Rapid: Fly just 8 roundtrips and you receive an Award!

  • Rapid Rewards counts trips.
    It takes just eight (8) roundtrips (16 credits; one credit awarded per one-way Southwest Airlines flight flown.) within 24 consecutive months to receive a Standard Award, valid for a free roundtrip Award for travel on Southwest Airlines. Award travel is subject to the government-imposed September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per roundtrip.
  • Use Partners for faster rewards!
    Even if you don't fly frequently, Rapid Rewards Preferred Partners can get you to 16 credits and a free Award fast. Receive Rapid Rewards credits through the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Visa Card®, Rapid Rewards Dining™, Alamo®, Avis®, Budget®, Dollar®, Hertz®, Thrifty®, Choice Hotels®, Hilton™, Hyatt®, InterContinental® Hotels Group, La Quinta® and Marriott®. You may also convert points from the American Express Membership Rewards®, Diners Club® Club Rewards® and select Preferred Partner hotel programs into Rapid Rewards credits. Don't forget to always provide your Rapid Rewards account number when you use our Preferred Partners and you'll earn a free trip quicker!
  • Online Account Access
    At your convenience, you can see how close you are to earning that free Award by viewing your Rapid Rewards account through MySouthwest®, which is the password-protected area on southwest.com. You can check your credit balance, view your Awards, check your progress toward earning Rapid Rewards A-List or Companion Pass status, save your frequent trips, car rental and hotel preferences, store credit card information and change your account information.

Rewards: Imagine the Places You'll Go!

  • Automatically receive your Standard Award in your account.
    As soon as we post your 16th credit in 24 consecutive months, we'll automatically deposit a roundtrip Standard Award in your account. There are no complicated redemption processes or long waits before you can enjoy your rewards. As soon as we deposit your Standard Award in your account, it's available to use. We’ll also send you a reminder either via e-mail (through your Account E-mail Address) or by U.S. mail (which can take 14-21 days), so you’ll know your Award is waiting for you.   • Give your Award to a family member or friend.
    Rapid Rewards Awards are fully transferable, a program benefit that allows you to give your travel benefits to friends or family members.
  • Get on The Rapid Rewards A-List.
    Rapid Rewards Members who fly at least 32 qualifying one-way flights within a 12-month period will receive reserved boarding privileges for an entire year. When you purchase your travel at least 36 hours prior to your flight time, we’ll reserve you the best boarding pass number available—most likely an “A.” See more on our A-List membership.
  • Feel the Freedom with our Freedom Awards.
    Rapid Rewards Members can convert two Standard Awards into one Freedom Award. With the exception of a few blackout dates, Freedom Awards are not subject to seat restrictions when flying on Southwest Airlines, so if a seat is available, it’s yours!
  • Receive a Companion Pass.
    Members who receive 100 credits in 12 consecutive months become eligible for a Companion Pass that allows one person of your choice to fly free with you for an entire year! Companion Pass travel is subject to the government-imposed September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per roundtrip.
  • Receive free Drink Coupons.
    For each Standard Award received, we'll send you Drink Coupons good for beer, wine, or mixed drinks onboard Southwest Airlines-operated flights (if you are 21 years of age or older).
