Kansas City International Airport (MCI)

If traveling to, from, or making a connection at Kansas City International Airport (MCI), please know that there is a security checkpoint for every four to five arrival/departure gates that separate them from other individually secured gate areas. To make your experience at MCI pleasant and efficient, here are a few helpful hints to know before you go...

• If your itinerary includes a change of planes at MCI, please determine your connecting flight's departure gate before exiting the secured gate area. This will save you time from having to go through the security checkpoint unnecessarily if your connection is departing from the same secured gate area. Since the airport's Flight Information Displays are currently located outside the gate area, please know our Gate Agents are happy to provide connecting gate information.
• Visit our Flight Status Information page on the day of travel to review arriving/departing gate information, scheduled flight times, and the ontime status of your flight(s).
• Should you leave the the secured gate area for any reason, please keep in mind that you will need to pass through the security checkpoint again to return to your gate.

Additional Airport Information

• Current Gate Information: Southwest Airlines uses gates 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, and 39 in Terminal B.
• Ticketing: You can purchase tickets at the ticket counter located in Terminal B.
• E-Ticket Check-In kiosks: Located near baggage claim S1 close to gate 31, near the ticket counter close to gates 34-35, and near security checkpoint close to gates 38-39.
• Baggage Claim: The baggage claim is on the main level of Terminal B. Southwest uses carousels S2 and S3 by gate 45.
• Wi-Fi: Available throughout airport.
• Power Station: Located in main concourse.

• Both I-635 and I-29 have exits to the airport.
